Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Thank you, I'm genuinely excited about the role.Gracias, de verdad me ilusiona el puesto.
Would it be possible to see the full offer in writing?¿Sería posible ver la oferta completa por escrito?
I'd like to take a couple of days to review it properly.

I'm genuinely excited… · I'd like to take + tiempo + to… · Would it be possible to…?

I'd like to take the weekend to think it over, if that works for you.

💡 Genuinely suena más sincero que very: I'm genuinely excited.

Así lo dirías

Sarah: We'd love to offer you the position at 70,000. What do you think?

Tú: Thank you, that's great news and I'm genuinely excited about the role. Would it be possible to see the full offer in writing? I'd like to take a couple of days to review it.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Based on my experience and the market, I was hoping for something closer to 80,000.Por mi experiencia y el mercado, esperaba algo más cerca de 80.000.
Is there any flexibility on the base salary?¿Hay algo de margen en el salario fijo?
If the base is fixed, could we look at the signing bonus instead?

I was hoping for… · Is there any flexibility on…? · closer to + cifra · If X is fixed, could we look at Y?

El pasado continuo (I was hoping) suaviza la petición.

I was hoping for a base closer to 85,000, given the scope of the role.

Mark: As the hiring manager: our budget for this role is 65,000. Is that acceptable?

Tú: Thanks for being upfront. Based on my experience and similar roles, I was hoping for something closer to 75,000. Is there any flexibility on the base, or perhaps on a signing bonus?

“It's very low” y “I want” suenan a choque. I was hoping for + cifra concreta + alternativa mantiene la conversación abierta.

Negociar condiciones

Remoto, días, formación, título.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Were I to accept, I'd need to work remotely two days a week.
Should you need a quicker answer, I can confirm by Friday.
A learning budget would make a real difference for me.Un presupuesto de formación marcaría una diferencia real para mí.

Gramática · Condicional con inversión

Were + sujeto + to + verbo (= If I were to…) · Should + sujeto + verbo (= If you should…)

Should the role require travel, I'd prefer to keep it under a week a month.

💡 Should you have any questions… es la versión elegante de “If you have any questions…”.

Así lo dirías

Sarah: The salary is fine, but you'd like more remote days and a learning budget. Ask in a formal way.

Tú: The base works for me. Were I to accept, I'd ideally work remotely three days a week, and a learning budget would make a real difference. Should that be possible, I'd be ready to sign this week.

Were I to… y should that be possible dan un registro formal y negociador.

Usar otra oferta

Menciona la competencia sin chantajear.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
In full transparency, I have another offer on the table.
Your company is my first choice, all things being equal.
I'd need to give them an answer by Thursday.Tendría que darles una respuesta el jueves.

Gramática · Transparencia profesional

In full transparency,… · all things being equal · on the table · I'd need to + verbo + by…

In full transparency, the other offer is higher, but all things being equal, I'd choose you.

💡 “All things being equal” = si las condiciones fueran parecidas, os elegiría a vosotros.

Así lo dirías

Sarah: You have a better-paid offer elsewhere but prefer this company. Tell the recruiter.

Tú: In full transparency, I have another offer that's somewhat higher. All things being equal, you're my first choice, so if there's any flexibility to close the gap, I'd be ready to sign this week.

La amenaza (“I go there”) pone al otro a la defensiva. Transparencia, preferencia clara y un incentivo (firmar pronto) funcionan mejor.

Aceptar o rechazar

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
I'm delighted to accept the offer.Estoy encantada de aceptar la oferta.
After careful consideration, I've decided to decline.Después de pensarlo mucho, he decidido rechazarla.
I hope our paths cross again in the future.

I'm delighted to accept… · After careful consideration,… · decline (rechazar) · I hope our paths cross again

After careful consideration, I've decided to decline, as the other role is closer to my goals.

Mark: Call the recruiter to accept the final offer and confirm the start date.

Tú: Hi Mark, I'm delighted to accept the offer. Thank you for working with me on the details. I can confirm I'll start on the 1st of March, and I'm really looking forward to joining the team.

“Start on the 1st of March” lleva on y ordinal.

Repaso: la negociación

Ganar tiempo, contraoferta, condiciones y cierre.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
I really appreciate you going back to the team on this.
That sounds like a fair compromise.Me parece un término medio justo.
Could you confirm the updated terms in writing?¿Podrías confirmar las nuevas condiciones por escrito?

Gramática · Repaso de la unidad

I was hoping for… · Were I to / Should you · in full transparency · delighted to accept / decline

Were the base to stay at 75k, I was hoping we could add a signing bonus.

Sarah: We can't raise the base, but we can offer a 5,000 signing bonus. What do you say?

Tú: I really appreciate you going back to the team on this. That sounds like a fair compromise. Could you also include a salary review after six months? If so, I'm happy to accept, and could you confirm everything in writing?
