Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| The bottom line is that we need two more engineers. | En resumen, necesitamos dos ingenieros más. |
| In short, the migration is on track. |
| I'll start with the recommendation and then walk you through the details. |
Gramática · Conclusión primero
The bottom line is (that)… · In short, … · I'll start with… and then walk you through…
The bottom line is we can launch in May if we cut the export feature.
💡 Walk someone through = explicar algo paso a paso.
Así lo dirías
Mark: You have one minute with the CEO. Go.
Tú: The bottom line is we'll be two weeks late unless we get one more backend engineer. Let me walk you through why.
Tendencias y cifras
Describe una gráfica con precisión.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Sign-ups rose by 20 percent in the first quarter. |
| Traffic peaked at 50,000 users on launch day. |
| Since then, churn has levelled off. |
Gramática · Describir tendencias
rise / fall by (diferencia) · to (valor final) · peak at · level off · double
By marca cuánto cambió; to, a qué valor llegó. Peak at, el máximo; level off, cuando deja de cambiar.
Latency fell from 800 ms to 200 ms and then levelled off.
💡 Rise → rose → risen (irregular). Fall → fell → fallen.
Así lo dirías
Priya: Describe what happened to our response times this quarter.
Tú: Response times fell from one second to 300 milliseconds, and they've levelled off since then.
From… to… (no until).
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| The decision to migrate was driven by cost. |
| The introduction of caching reduced costs significantly. |
| There's been a significant improvement in reliability. | Ha habido una mejora importante en fiabilidad. |
Gramática · Nominalización
decide → the decision to · improve → an improvement in · introduce → the introduction of
The adoption of the new tool led to a reduction in incidents.
Si no, suena a burocracia.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Summarise the impact of the reliability project for the board.
Tú: The reliability project led to a 40 percent reduction in incidents and a clear improvement in uptime.
“A reduction in” y “an improvement in” suenan más ejecutivos. Y da una cifra.
Persuadir con datos
Traduce lo técnico a impacto de negocio.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| This would allow us to ship features twice as fast. |
| The investment would pay for itself within a year. |
| If we don't act now, the cost will keep growing. |
Gramática · Lenguaje persuasivo
This would allow us to + verbo · pay for itself · If we don't…, … will…
Would suaviza la propuesta; will marca la urgencia.
This would allow us to cut onboarding time in half.
💡 Allow + objeto + to + verbo: allow us to scale.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Convince me to fund the platform team.
Tú: A platform team would allow our product teams to ship twice as fast. Based on last year's numbers, it would pay for itself within nine months.
“Technically good” no convence a dirección. Traduce a velocidad, dinero y plazo.
Preguntas difíciles
Responde sin inventar y sin perder credibilidad.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I don't have that figure to hand, but I'll send it today. |
| That's outside the scope of this project. |
| It's too early to say, but the first signs are positive. |
Gramática · Responder sin inventar
I don't have that to hand · That's outside the scope · It's too early to say
It's too early to say, but I'll have the numbers by Friday.
💡 To hand = a mano. On hand también se usa.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Will this project increase revenue?
Tú: It's too early to give a firm number. The first signs are positive, and I'll have a reliable estimate by the end of the month.
Pedir presupuesto
Conclusión, datos, impacto, riesgo y petición.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| We're asking for 60,000 euros over six months. | Pedimos 60.000 euros para seis meses. |
| The biggest risk is not doing anything. | El mayor riesgo es no hacer nada. |
| We'd report back on progress every month. | Informaríamos del progreso cada mes. |
Gramática · La petición
We're asking for… · The biggest risk is… · We'd report back…
We're asking for two engineers for six months, and we'd report back monthly.
Mark: Make your pitch for the observability budget.
Tú: We're asking for 40,000 euros for better observability. Last quarter, outages cost us around 100,000 euros, so it would pay for itself quickly. We'd report back on incident numbers every month.
Petición concreta, coste del problema, retorno y cómo medirás. Eso consigue el sí.
