Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Our launch relies on the new auth service being ready. |
| We're blocked by the data team's schema change. |
| Is there anything we can do to unblock you? | ¿Hay algo que podamos hacer para desbloquearos? |
Gramática · Dependencias
depend on / rely on + algo (+ -ing) · be blocked by + algo/alguien
Depend on y rely on llevan on. Si sigue una acción, va en -ing: relies on the API being ready.
The mobile release depends on the backend shipping v2 first.
💡 Rely on + sujeto + -ing es muy natural: we rely on them shipping the fix.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Why is the mobile release at risk?
Tú: We're relying on the backend team shipping the new API, and they're about a week behind. Until then, we're blocked on the payment screens.
Rely/depend on (no of), con persona + -ing. Blocked on/by explica exactamente qué está parado.
Prioridades enfrentadas
Contrasta posturas con los conectores adecuados.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Although we'd like to help, our roadmap is full this quarter. |
| Despite the delay, we can still hit the launch date. |
| Security wants more reviews. However, that would slow us down. | Seguridad quiere más revisiones. Sin embargo, eso nos ralentizaría. |
Gramática · Conectores de contraste
although + frase · despite / in spite of + sustantivo o -ing · However, + frase nueva
Despite having fewer people, the team shipped on time.
💡 “Despite of” es incorrecto: despite o in spite of.
Así lo dirías
Priya: Another team asks you to build a feature for them this sprint, but you're fully booked. Reply.
Tú: Although we'd love to help, we're fully committed this sprint. However, we could look at it early next sprint, or review your design in the meantime.
Although + frase (despite no va con sujeto y verbo). Want to + verbo. However introduce la alternativa.
Contar lo que se acordó
Resume una reunión entre equipos con precisión.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| The platform team agreed to review our design by Friday. |
| They promised to share the API spec next week. |
| Legal warned us not to launch in Germany yet. |
Gramática · Verbos para informar
agree / promise / offer / refuse + to + verbo · warn / remind / ask + persona + (not) to
Estos verbos resumen la intención: agree (aceptar), promise (prometer), offer (ofrecerse), refuse (negarse), warn (advertir).
Infra offered to help with the migration, but security refused to approve it yet.
💡 Warn + persona + not to: they warned us not to deploy on Fridays.
Así lo dirías
Sarah: Summarise what was agreed with the data team in today's meeting.
Tú: They agreed to build the export by the end of the month, and they warned us not to change the shared tables in the meantime.
Agreed to y warned us not to resumen mejor que repetir “they said”. “Said us” es incorrecto.
Pedir algo a otro equipo
Pide con contexto, fechas y alternativa.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I was wondering if you could review our schema change. | Me preguntaba si podríais revisar nuestro cambio de esquema. |
| Would it be possible to get a staging account by Thursday? |
| If that's not doable, could we at least agree on a date? |
Gramática · Peticiones muy educadas
I was wondering if you could + verbo · Would it be possible to + verbo? · doable / feasible
El pasado (I was wondering) y would suavizan mucho la petición.
I was wondering if your team could share the load test results.
💡 Doable es informal y muy común: “Is that doable by Friday?”.
Así lo dirías
Priya: You need the security team to review your feature before launch. Write the request.
Tú: Hi! I was wondering if someone from your team could review our new upload feature before Monday's launch. If that's not doable, could we agree on a date that works for you?
“You need to” suena a orden a un equipo que no depende de ti. I was wondering if… y una alternativa hacen la petición fácil de aceptar.
Llegar a un acuerdo
Cierra acuerdos con condiciones claras.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| We can take it on, provided that you handle the data migration. |
| We'll keep the old endpoint as long as you move off it by June. |
| Let's put this in writing so everyone's on the same page. |
Gramática · Condiciones en un acuerdo
provided (that) / as long as / on condition that + presente
Las tres significan “siempre que”. Provided that y on condition that son más formales. Van con presente aunque hablen del futuro.
We'll share the cluster provided that each team sets its own limits.
💡 “On the same page” = estar de acuerdo y tener la misma información.
Así lo dirías
Mark: The other team wants you to own their legacy service. Make a deal with conditions.
Tú: We're open to taking it on, provided that you hand over proper documentation and one of your engineers pairs with us for the first month. Let's put that in writing.
Provided that + presente (sin will).
Dependencias, contrastes, acuerdos y peticiones.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Let's set up a fortnightly sync between our teams. |
| Who's the best point of contact on your side? |
| Thanks for being flexible on this. | Gracias por ser flexibles con esto. |
Gramática · Repaso de la unidad
rely on + -ing · although/despite/however · agree/promise/warn · I was wondering if · provided that
Although we're busy, we agreed to help, provided that the scope stays small.
Sarah: Your project depends on three other teams. How do you keep everyone aligned?
Tú: I set up a short weekly sync and keep a shared doc with every dependency, its owner and its date. Although things still slip, we spot it early, and if something's at risk, I raise it before it blocks us.
“Say them” es incorrecto (tell them).
