Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Have you ever spent a whole day chasing a flaky test? | ¿Alguna vez os habéis pasado un día entero persiguiendo un test inestable? |
| Raise your hand if you've ever broken production. |
| By the end of this talk, you'll know how to avoid it. |
Gramática · Enganchar a la audiencia
Have you ever…? · Raise your hand if… · By the end of this talk, you'll…
Raise your hand if you've ever deployed on a Friday.
💡 Raise your hand if + present perfect: if you've ever done it.
Así lo dirías
Sarah: Open your five-minute talk about code reviews.
Tú: Raise your hand if you've ever waited three days for a code review. By the end of this talk, you'll have three tricks to get reviews in hours, not days.
Explicar simple
Analogías y reformulaciones para conceptos complejos.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Think of a cache as a cheat sheet next to your desk. |
| In other words, we only compute it once. |
| The key idea here is that nothing is shared. |
Gramática · Reformular
Think of X as Y · In other words, … · The key idea is that… · Put simply, …
Think of a message queue as a post office. In other words, sender and receiver don't wait for each other.
Priya: Explain what an API is to someone from sales.
Tú: Think of an API as a waiter in a restaurant: you ask for what you want, and it brings it back from the kitchen. In other words, it lets two systems talk without knowing how the other works.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Let's start with the low-hanging fruit. | Empecemos por lo más fácil y rápido. |
| I went down a rabbit hole with that bug. |
| We're bikeshedding, let's get back to the real problem. |
Gramática · Idioms del sector
low-hanging fruit · rabbit hole · bikeshedding · move the needle · ballpark figure
Expresiones idiomáticas muy comunes en equipos tech. Entenderlas es tan importante como usarlas.
That fix is low-hanging fruit, but it won't move the needle.
💡 Ballpark figure = cifra aproximada. Move the needle = tener un impacto real.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Which improvements should we tackle first this quarter?
Tú: Let's grab the low-hanging fruit first, like caching the search results. Then we can focus on the bigger projects that will really move the needle.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Not only is it faster, it's also cheaper. |
| Never have we had so few incidents. | Nunca habíamos tenido tan pocas incidencias. |
| Rarely do you see a team ship this fast. |
Gramática · Inversión para énfasis
Not only + auxiliar + sujeto… · Never / Rarely + auxiliar + sujeto…
Not only did we cut costs, we also improved uptime.
Leo: Give the audience the most impressive result of your project in one sentence.
Tú: Not only did the app get three times faster, it also became 40 percent cheaper to run.
“More cheap” → cheaper.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| What do you think would happen if the request timed out? |
| What have you tried so far? | ¿Qué has probado hasta ahora? |
| How would you approach it if you had to start again? |
Gramática · Preguntas abiertas
What do you think would…? · What have you tried…? · How would you…?
Las preguntas abiertas (what, how, why) hacen pensar; las cerradas (do, is) se responden con sí o no.
What made you choose this approach? How would it behave under load?
¿Qué te hizo elegir este enfoque? ¿Cómo se comportaría con carga?
💡 Evita “Why didn't you…?”: suena a reproche. Mejor “What made you choose…?”.
Así lo dirías
Priya: A junior asks you to just fix their bug. Respond like a mentor.
Tú: Happy to help. Before I jump in, walk me through what you've tried so far. What do you think is happening?
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| If you remember one thing from this talk, make it this. |
| Let me show you a real example from last month. |
| Thanks, I'm happy to take questions. | Gracias, encantado de responder preguntas. |
Gramática · Estructura de una lightning talk
hook → one key idea → real example → takeaway → questions
If you remember one thing: measure before you optimise.
Sarah: Close your lightning talk in two sentences.
Tú: If you remember one thing from this talk, make it this: measure before you optimise. Thanks, I'm happy to take questions.
“This is all” desaprovecha el final.
