Frases clave

InglésEspañol
It seems there's been a misunderstanding.Parece que ha habido un malentendido.
I can see why you're frustrated.Entiendo que estés frustrado.
Let's focus on how we fix it, not on who caused it.Centrémonos en cómo arreglarlo, no en quién lo causó.

Gramática · Lenguaje distanciado

It seems (that)… · There appears to be… · I can see why…

Estas fórmulas describen el problema sin culpar. “I can see why” valida la emoción del otro sin darle la razón.

It seems the requirements weren't clear to everyone.

💡 Evita el “you” acusador: “you broke it” → “it seems something broke”.

Así lo dirías

Priya: The client is angry and blames your team. Calm things down.

Tú: I can see why they're frustrated. It seems there was a gap between teams, so let's focus on fixing it first and look at the cause afterwards.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
If we had known earlier, we would have changed the plan.
It wouldn't have happened if the alert had fired. No habría pasado si hubiera saltado la alerta.
Had we tested it, we'd have caught the bug.

if + had + participio → would have + participio

If we had added a flag, we would have rolled back in seconds.

= If we had known…

Así lo dirías

Mark: Looking back at the failed launch, what would have changed the outcome?

Tú: If we had tested the payment flow end to end, we would have caught the issue before launch.

Para un pasado hipotético: if + had tested → would have caught.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Granted, the deadline was tight.Es cierto que el plazo era ajustado.
I take your point, but quality can't be optional.
Admittedly, we could have communicated better.

Granted, … · Admittedly, … · I take your point, but… · Fair enough, but…

Granted, it's more expensive. But it saves us two weeks.

Mark: Product says your team is too slow. Respond.

Tú: Granted, we've missed two dates. But the requirements changed three times this quarter, so I'd suggest we freeze the scope before each sprint.

Expectativas no cumplidas

Aclara malentendidos sin acusar.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
I was under the impression that the API was ready.Tenía entendido que la API estaba lista.
My understanding was that design would deliver on Monday.Yo entendí que diseño entregaría el lunes.
Just to make sure we're on the same page, who owns this?

I was under the impression that… · My understanding was that… · on the same page

I was under the impression we were launching in April.

Tenía entendido que lanzábamos en abril.

💡 On the same page = alineados, con la misma información.

Así lo dirías

Priya: The client thought the redesign was included in the price. It wasn't. Talk to them.

Tú: I think we had different expectations here. My understanding was that the redesign was a separate phase. Let's make sure we're on the same page and look at the options.

“You are wrong” rompe la relación.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Could we meet halfway on this?¿Podríamos encontrarnos a medio camino?
What if we split the work between both teams?¿Y si repartimos el trabajo entre los dos equipos?
I think we can both live with that.Creo que los dos podemos aceptar eso.

Gramática · Cerrar acuerdos

meet halfway · find common ground · can live with · work for both sides

Could we meet halfway: two weeks instead of four?

💡 Live with = aceptar algo aunque no sea lo ideal.

Así lo dirías

Mark: Two teams both want the release slot on Friday. Propose a solution.

Tú: What if we meet halfway? The payments team takes Friday because it's customer-facing, and platform releases on Monday morning. Would that work for both of you?

Validar, aclarar, conceder y acordar.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
I appreciate you raising this.Te agradezco que lo saques.
Where do we agree, and where don't we?¿En qué estamos de acuerdo y en qué no?
Let's put it in writing so there's no confusion later.

validate → clarify → concede → propose → confirm in writing

I appreciate you raising it. Granted, we need the capacity, but…

Te agradezco que lo plantees. Es cierto que necesitamos capacidad, pero…

💡 I appreciate you + -ing: I appreciate you being honest.

Así lo dirías

Sarah: Sarah is upset because her best engineer is moving to your team. Handle it.

Tú: I appreciate you raising this, and I can see why it's frustrating. Granted, the timing isn't great. What if they stay with you until the release and join us after? I'll put it in writing.

Valida, concede y propón una transición. “The decision is taken” cierra la puerta.
