Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Our app helps people book a doctor.
It sends a reminder the day before.Envía un recordatorio el día antes.
It works on iPhone and Android.Funciona en iPhone y Android.

Gramática · Presente simple con it

It + verbo + -s · It doesn't + verbo · Does it + verbo?

Con it, el verbo lleva -s: it sends, it works, it helps.

The app tracks your expenses and shows a monthly report.

💡 Help + persona + verbo: it helps people save money.

Así lo dirías

Mark: What does your company's app do?

Tú: Our app helps people save money. It shows your expenses and sends you tips every week.

Con it, -s: helps, shows. People sin the.

Cómo es

Describe una app con adjetivos.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
The design is clean and simple.El diseño es limpio y sencillo.
It's a fast, reliable app.Es una app rápida y fiable.
The menu is a bit confusing.El menú es un poco confuso.

Gramática · Adjetivos

adjetivo + sustantivo · be + adjetivo · a bit / very / really + adjetivo

It's a simple app with a clean design, but the search is a bit slow.

Priya: What do you think of our new app design?

Tú: It's really clean and simple. The menu is a bit confusing, though.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
There's a search bar at the top.Hay una barra de búsqueda arriba.
There are three tabs at the bottom.Hay tres pestañas abajo.
It has a dark mode.Tiene modo oscuro.

Gramática · There is / there are / has

There is (there's) + singular · There are + plural · It has + cosa

There is/are = hay. It has = tiene. Para decir dónde: at the top (arriba), at the bottom (abajo), on the left (a la izquierda).

There's a profile icon at the top, and it has a chat for support.

💡 En pregunta: Is there…? / Are there…? / Does it have…?

Así lo dirías

Sarah: Describe the home screen of the app you're building.

Tú: There's a search bar at the top, and there are three buttons at the bottom.

Para “hay”, there is/are (plural: there are). Falta el sujeto en “has”. At the top, no in the top.

Comparar apps

Compara tu app con otras.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Our app is faster than theirs.
The new version is easier to use.
It's more expensive, but it's better.Es más cara, pero es mejor.

Gramática · Comparativos

corto + -er + than · more + largo + than · good → better · bad → worse

Adjetivos cortos: -er (fast → faster, easy → easier). Largos: more (more expensive). Irregulares: better, worse.

App A is cheaper than App B, but App B is more reliable.

La app A es más barata que la B, pero la B es más fiable.

💡 Nunca “more faster”: o -er o more, no los dos.

Así lo dirías

Mark: Why is our app better than the competition?

Tú: It's faster and easier to use, and it's also cheaper than the others.

Adjetivos cortos con -er: faster, easier, cheaper. Falta el sujeto: it's.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
It doesn't have a web version. No tiene versión web.
There isn't a way to export the data.No hay forma de exportar los datos.
I'd like a dark mode.Me gustaría un modo oscuro.

Gramática · Negativas y deseos

It doesn't have… · There isn't / There aren't… · I'd like + sustantivo / to + verbo

Doesn't have = no tiene. There isn't/aren't = no hay. I'd like = me gustaría, para pedir algo con educación.

There aren't any filters, and it doesn't have notifications. I'd like both.

No hay filtros y no tiene notificaciones. Me gustaría tener las dos cosas.

💡 There aren't any + plural: there aren't any filters.

Así lo dirías

Priya: What's missing in our app, in your opinion?

Tú: It doesn't have an export option, and there aren't any filters. I'd like more ways to organise my data.

Doesn't have (con it). There aren't any + plural. “Me gustaría” es I'd like, no “I like”.

Repaso: tu app

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
It takes less than a minute to sign up.Registrarse lleva menos de un minuto.
Users love the new search.
We're adding a web version next month.

it + -s · adjetivo + sustantivo · there is/are · -er than / more… than · doesn't have

Para presentar una app: qué hace (presente con -s), cómo es (adjetivos), qué tiene (there is/are), cómo se compara (comparativos) y qué le falta.

It helps teams plan, there's a simple calendar, and it's faster than the old one.

Mark: Imagine I'm a client. Present your app in three or four sentences.

Tú: Our app helps restaurants take orders from their tables. It's easier than other systems, it has a digital menu, and there's a dashboard for the kitchen.

Empieza por lo que hace (helps…). Easier (no more easy), has con -s y digital menu (adjetivo delante).
