Gestionar stakeholders en inglés
Dar malas noticias, gestionar expectativas y mantener informada a dirección.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I'm afraid I have some bad news about the launch date. |
| It looks as though we'll need an extra two weeks. |
| I wanted you to hear it from me first. |
Gramática · Suavizar una mala noticia
I'm afraid… · It looks as though… · I wanted you to hear it from me · I'd like to flag…
I'm afraid the migration has slipped. It looks as though we'll finish in May.
💡 “It looks as though” es más formal que “it looks like” y encaja bien con dirección.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Tell me, your director, that the mobile release will be three weeks late.
Tú: I'm afraid I have some bad news: the mobile release will be about three weeks late. App Store review flagged a privacy issue, and we've already started fixing it. I'll send you a revised plan tomorrow.
“It's not our fault” suena defensivo.
Gestionar expectativas
Pon límites claros desde el principio.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Realistically, we can deliver the core features by June. |
| I'd rather under-promise and over-deliver. | Prefiero prometer poco y entregar más. |
| It's worth bearing in mind that the estimate has a wide margin. |
Gramática · Expectativas realistas
Realistically,… · It's worth bearing in mind that… · at best / at worst · a ballpark of
Dar rangos y supuestos explícitos protege tu credibilidad. At best/at worst marca los extremos del rango.
At best, we launch in May; at worst, early July.
💡 It's worth + -ing: it's worth noting, it's worth bearing in mind.
Así lo dirías
Priya: The CEO wants a firm date for the new product. What do you say?
Tú: Realistically, the core product will be ready in June at best and July at worst. It's worth bearing in mind that this depends on hiring two engineers by March. I'd rather give you a range now than a date we'd have to move.
Un rango con at best/at worst y el supuesto explícito suena más fiable que “I can't give a date”.
El informe de estado
Lo esencial en tres líneas.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Overall, the project is on track for the Q3 launch. |
| The data migration is at risk due to a vendor delay. |
| No action is needed from you at this stage. |
Gramática · Lenguaje de estado
on track · at risk · off track · due to · pending · no action needed / your input needed on…
Search is on track; billing is at risk due to missing test data.
💡 Due to va con sustantivo: due to a vendor delay (no due to the vendor is late).
Así lo dirías
Mark: Give me a 30-second status update on your project.
Tú: Overall we're on track for the June launch. The partner API is at risk due to a delay on their side; we'll know more on Thursday. No action is needed from you at this stage.
“More or less” y “we try” restan confianza.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I'd advise against launching before the security review. |
| If we go ahead, we'd be taking on significant risk. |
| Ultimately it's your call, but I wanted to make the trade-off clear. |
Gramática · Desaconsejar
I'd advise against + -ing · I'd caution against + -ing · ultimately it's your call
I'd caution against cutting QA; the last time we did, we had two outages.
💡 “It's your call” = la decisión es tuya. Muy útil para cerrar sin bloquear.
Así lo dirías
Priya: Leadership wants to launch in all countries at once. You think it's risky. Tell them.
Tú: I'd advise against launching everywhere at once. If something goes wrong with payments, we'd be dealing with it in eight markets. I'd suggest starting with two countries. Ultimately it's your call, but I wanted the trade-off to be clear.
“Bad idea” y “disaster” suenan a choque. Advise against + -ing, el riesgo concreto y “it's your call” respetan la decisión.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| In a nutshell, the checkout will be faster and more reliable. |
| From a customer's point of view, nothing changes. |
| I can go into more detail if that's helpful. |
Gramática · Ajustar el nivel
In a nutshell · From X's point of view · in layman's terms · I can go into more detail if…
In a nutshell, we're replacing the engine without stopping the car.
Mark: Explain to our non-technical CEO why we need to spend a quarter on technical debt.
Tú: In a nutshell, our code has become like a crowded kitchen: every new dish takes twice as long. A quarter of clean-up would let us ship features about thirty percent faster next year. I can go into more detail if that's helpful.
Repaso: stakeholders
Malas noticias, expectativas, estado, desacuerdo y audiencias.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I'll keep you posted as things develop. | Te iré informando según avance. |
| Let's align on priorities before the board meeting. |
| I appreciate your patience on this. | Agradezco tu paciencia con esto. |
Gramática · Repaso de la unidad
I'm afraid · at best/at worst · on track/at risk · advise against + -ing · in a nutshell
I'm afraid the API is at risk; at worst we'll launch two weeks late.
Sarah: Your biggest client's integration is late and the account manager is upset. Brief them.
Tú: I'm afraid the integration has slipped: their API returned data in a format we didn't expect. Realistically, we'll be ready in two weeks at best, three at worst. I'll keep you posted every Friday until it's live.
“I don't know when” genera ansiedad. Causa breve, un rango con at best/at worst y un compromiso de seguimiento dan control.
