Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I'm thinking of extracting this into a helper. |
| Let me just check what this function returns. | Déjame comprobar qué devuelve esta función. |
| I'm going to write the test first, then make it pass. |
Gramática · Narrar el plan
I'm thinking of + -ing · Let me + verbo · I'm going to + verbo
I'm thinking of renaming this variable; it's a bit misleading.
💡 “I'm thinking to do” es incorrecto: thinking of/about + -ing.
Así lo dirías
Leo: You're driving. Tell me what you're about to do with this messy function.
Tú: I'm thinking of splitting this function in two. First, I'm going to add a test so we don't break anything.
Thinking of + -ing. “Dividir” una función es split. Going to para el siguiente paso.
Guiar sin imponer
Sugiere el siguiente paso sin quitarle el teclado.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| What if we started with the edge case? | ¿Y si empezamos por el caso límite? |
| Shall we run the tests before going further? | ¿Pasamos los tests antes de seguir? |
| Maybe try logging the response here? |
Gramática · Sugerencias suaves
What if we + pasado? · Shall we + verbo? · Maybe try + -ing?
What if we moved the validation to the top of the function?
Priya: You're navigating and your pair is stuck on a failing test. What do you say?
Tú: Maybe try logging the value just before the assertion? I have a feeling the problem is there.
Una orden (“Do this”) suena brusca en pairing. Maybe try + -ing guía sin imponer. Look at, no look.
Stop, remember, forget
Algunos verbos significan otra cosa con -ing o con to.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| We stopped using that library last year. |
| Let's stop to think about the edge cases. | Paremos a pensar en los casos límite. |
| I remember adding that check, but it's gone. |
Gramática · Verbos con doble significado
stop + -ing = dejar de · stop + to = parar para · remember + -ing = pasado · remember + to = pendiente
Don't forget to push your branch. I remember pushing mine this morning.
💡 “Remember to commit” = no te olvides de hacerlo. “I remember committing” = recuerdo que lo hice.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Why did the team stop using the old ORM?
Tú: We stopped using it because it was too slow, and I remember having a lot of problems with migrations.
Dejar de hacer algo: stop + -ing. Recordar algo pasado: remember + -ing. Falta el sujeto en “was slow”.
Cambiar de rol
Pide y ofrece el teclado con naturalidad.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Do you mind if I drive for a bit? |
| Would you like to take over from here? | ¿Quieres seguir tú desde aquí? |
| Let's swap every twenty-five minutes. | Cambiemos cada veinticinco minutos. |
Gramática · Pedir permiso y ofrecer
Do you mind if I + presente? · Would you like to + verbo? · Let's + verbo
Do you mind if I…? pide permiso con educación. Would you like to…? ofrece algo. Let's propone un acuerdo.
Do you mind if I share my screen instead?
¿Te importa si comparto yo la pantalla?
💡 Para decir que sí a “Do you mind if…?”, se responde “No, go ahead” (no me importa).
Así lo dirías
Priya: You've been navigating for a while and want to try the next part. Ask Priya.
Tú: Do you mind if I drive for this next bit? I've got an idea I'd like to try.
Do you mind if I… es mucho más amable, y dar una razón positiva evita que suene a crítica (“you go very slow”).
Cuando no estáis de acuerdo
Discrepa del enfoque sin parar la sesión.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I see where you're going, but I'd go with a simpler approach. |
| I'd suggest trying both and comparing the tests. |
| Let's timebox it to ten minutes and decide. | Pongámosle diez minutos y decidimos. |
Gramática · Suggest y preferencias
suggest + -ing · suggest (that) we + verbo · I'd go with + sustantivo
Suggest nunca va con to: suggest doing o suggest that we do. I'd go with es una forma natural de decir qué opción eliges.
I'd suggest writing the test first, so we know what we want.
Leo: Your pair wants to use a big new framework for a small feature. What do you say?
Tú: I see where you're going, but it feels like overkill for this. I'd suggest trying a simple version first and only bringing in the framework if we need it.
Suggest + -ing (nunca to). Overkill (excesivo) es la palabra exacta. Reconocer la idea antes ayuda.
Repaso: una sesión de pairing
Narrar, guiar, turnarse y decidir.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Let's recap what we've done before we wrap up. |
| That was really useful, let's do it again on Thursday. | Ha sido muy útil, repitamos el jueves. |
| I learned a lot from the way you debug. | He aprendido mucho de tu forma de depurar. |
Gramática · Repaso de la unidad
thinking of + -ing · shall we · stop/remember + -ing/to · do you mind if · suggest + -ing
Shall we stop here? Remember to push before you log off.
¿Paramos aquí? Acuérdate de hacer push antes de desconectarte.
💡 Antes de terminar, resume y acuerda quién hace qué: “Let's recap…”.
Así lo dirías
Mark: How do you like to run a pairing session?
Tú: We usually swap every thirty minutes, and I suggest thinking out loud the whole time, so the navigator always knows what's going on.
Suggest + -ing. Think out loud: pensar en voz alta.
