Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| The release went really smoothly this time. | Esta vez la release fue muy bien. |
| Pairing on the hard tickets worked well. |
| Big thanks to Leo for jumping in on the outage. |
Gramática · Adverbios de modo
verbo + adverbio (-ly) · went well / worked well
The team communicated really clearly during the incident.
💡 “It went good” es muy común pero incorrecto en inglés cuidado: it went well.
Así lo dirías
Mark: What went well for you this sprint?
Tú: The release went really well, and Priya helped me a lot with the tests. Big thanks to her.
Con verbos, well, no good. “Ayudar mucho” es help a lot. Nombrar a quien ayudó es típico en una retro.
Qué no fue tan bien
Habla del proceso, no de las personas.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I felt the requirements changed a bit too often. |
| We didn't have enough time for testing. | No tuvimos suficiente tiempo para probar. |
| Communication with design could have been better. |
Gramática · Suavizar
I felt… · a bit too… · could have been better · not enough
En una retro se critica el proceso. Usa “I felt” (opinión), “a bit” (suaviza) y “could have been better” en lugar de “was bad”.
The estimates were a bit too optimistic.
Las estimaciones fueron un poco demasiado optimistas.
💡 Habla en plural (we) o del proceso: “we didn't…” en vez de “you didn't…”.
Así lo dirías
Sarah: What didn't go so well this sprint?
Tú: I felt the scope changed a bit too often, which made it hard to plan.
Suaviza (I felt, a bit too) y habla del proceso (the scope), no del equipo de producto. “A disaster” suena dramático.
Por qué pasó
Explica las causas sin hacer un drama.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| We were late because of the dependency on the data team. |
| Two people were off sick, so we had less capacity. |
| The delay was mainly due to unclear requirements. |
Gramática · Causa y consecuencia
because + frase · because of / due to + sustantivo · so + consecuencia
Because va con una frase completa. Because of y due to, con un sustantivo. So introduce el resultado.
Due to the outage, we lost a day, so the demo moved.
💡 “Because of we were late” es incorrecto: because of + sustantivo, because + frase.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Why didn't we finish the reporting feature this sprint?
Tú: Mainly because the data team was late, and also because of the production bugs we had to fix.
Because + frase (the data team was late); because of + sustantivo (the production bugs).
Qué cambiamos
Propón cambios concretos que alguien pueda hacer.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Let's try shorter tickets next sprint. | Probemos tickets más cortos el próximo sprint. |
| Why don't we do a quick check-in with design on Wednesdays? |
| Who'd like to own this action? | ¿Quién quiere encargarse de esta acción? |
Gramática · Sugerencias
Let's + verbo · Why don't we + verbo? · We should + verbo · How about + -ing?
Let's es directo pero amable. Why don't we… es una propuesta abierta. How about va con -ing.
How about adding a checklist to the PR template?
💡 Una buena acción tiene dueño y fecha: “Leo will set it up by Friday”.
Así lo dirías
Priya: What's one thing we should change for next sprint?
Tú: We should split the work into smaller tickets. And why don't we start testing earlier?
Should + verbo, sin to. Why don't we + verbo para proponer. “Partir en tickets más pequeños” es split into smaller tickets.
Lo que deberíamos haber hecho
Habla de errores pasados sin culpar a nadie.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| We should have flagged the risk earlier. | Deberíamos haber avisado del riesgo antes. |
| We could have asked for help sooner. | Podríamos haber pedido ayuda antes. |
| In hindsight, the estimate was too optimistic. | Visto ahora, la estimación era demasiado optimista. |
Gramática · Modales en pasado
should have + participio · could have + participio
Should have: lo que habría sido lo correcto y no hicimos. Could have: una opción que teníamos y no usamos.
We should have tested it on mobile before releasing.
💡 En habla rápida suenan “should've” y “could've”. Nunca se escribe “should of”.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Looking back at the outage, what could we have done better?
Tú: We should have tested it more beforehand, and we could have asked Leo, since he knows the system well.
Para el pasado: should have tested, could have asked.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Let's start with what went well. | Empecemos por lo que fue bien. |
| Does anyone want to add anything before we vote? | ¿Alguien quiere añadir algo antes de votar? |
| Let's review last sprint's actions first. | Revisemos primero las acciones del último sprint. |
Gramática · Repaso de la unidad
went well · a bit too · because of/so · let's/why don't we · should have
Una retro tiene cuatro partes: lo bueno (went well), lo mejorable (a bit too, could have been better), las causas (because of, so) y las acciones (let's, why don't we).
It went well overall, but we should have tested earlier, so let's add QA to the planning.
Sarah: Give us your summary of this sprint for the retro.
Tú: Overall it went well, but testing was a bit late because we had a lot of bugs. We should have started testing earlier, so let's plan it from day one.
Went well. Because + frase (sin of). Para el pasado, should have started.
