Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Sorry, you're breaking up a bit. | Perdona, se te corta un poco. |
| Can everyone see my screen? | ¿Veis todos mi pantalla? |
| I think you're on mute. | Creo que tienes el micro silenciado. |
Gramática · Can para percepción
Can you hear/see me? · I can't hear you
Con verbos de percepción (hear, see) en inglés se usa can, aunque en español digamos solo “¿me oyes?”.
Can you hear me now?
¿Me oyes ahora?
💡 Decir “Do you hear me?” suena raro en una llamada: lo natural es “Can you hear me?”.
Así lo dirías
Sarah: Your internet is very slow during a meeting. What do you say?
Tú: Sorry, my connection is really bad. I'm going to turn my camera off.
“Cerrar la cámara” es turn off. Para algo que vas a hacer ya, going to. Connection suena más natural que internet aquí.
Zonas horarias
Queda con gente de otros países sin líos.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Does 4 pm your time work for you? | ¿Te va bien a las 4 de la tarde de tu hora? |
| That's quite late for the team in Singapore. |
| Let's meet first thing in the morning on Tuesday. | Veámonos a primera hora el martes. |
Gramática · At, on, in con el tiempo
at + hora · on + día/fecha · in + mes/año/parte del día
At para la hora exacta, on para días y fechas, in para periodos largos o “in the morning”.
The call is on Monday at 9:30 in the morning.
💡 Excepción: at night y at the weekend (UK) / on the weekend (US).
Así lo dirías
Priya: When can we have a call this week? I'm in Singapore.
Tú: How about Tuesday morning my time? That would be the afternoon for you.
On Tuesday (o Tuesday morning sin preposición). “My time” aclara la zona horaria. Falta el sujeto: that would be.
Confirmar sin repetir
Confirma algo en remoto sin sonar pesado.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| The deadline is Friday, isn't it? | La fecha es el viernes, ¿no? |
| You haven't sent the invite yet, have you? | Aún no has mandado la invitación, ¿verdad? |
| We can record this call, can't we? | Podemos grabar esta llamada, ¿no? |
Gramática · Question tags
frase afirmativa + tag negativo · frase negativa + tag afirmativo
The client is joining, isn't she?
La clienta se une, ¿no?
💡 Si la frase no tiene auxiliar, usa do/does/did: You use Jira, don't you?
Así lo dirías
Leo: Check with Leo that the planning meeting is still on Thursday.
Tú: The planning meeting is still on Thursday, isn't it?
Trabajar async
Escribe mensajes que se entienden sin llamada.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Is anyone around to review a small PR? |
| Nobody has picked up the ticket yet. | Nadie ha cogido el ticket todavía. |
| Everything is in the doc, so no need for a call. |
Gramática · Anyone, someone, nobody, everything
some- en afirmativas · any- en preguntas y negativas · no- = nadie/nada
Someone/something en afirmaciones y ofrecimientos. Anyone/anything en preguntas y con not. Nobody/nothing ya son negativos.
Nobody has replied, so I'll ping someone from QA.
Sarah: You're logging off for the day. Write a quick handover for the team.
Tú: I'm logging off now. Nobody has reviewed my PR yet, so could someone check it tomorrow?
Sin doble negación (nobody has reviewed). Pedir a alguien con could someone… deja claro el siguiente paso.
Disponibilidad y estado
Avisa de cuándo estás, cuándo no y cómo localizarte.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| I'm off tomorrow, but I'll be back on Thursday. | Mañana no estoy, pero vuelvo el jueves. |
| I'll be offline for an hour for a doctor's appointment. |
| I'm available after lunch if you want to pair. |
Gramática · Expresiones de disponibilidad
be off · be away · be back · be available · be offline
Son expresiones fijas con be. Off es no trabajar (libre o enfermo); away es fuera; back es de vuelta.
I'm away next week; Leo is covering for me.
💡 “I'm off sick” = estoy de baja. “I'm off” solo = hoy no trabajo.
Así lo dirías
Mark: Let the team know you'll be on holiday next week.
Tú: I'm on holiday next week. Priya is covering for me, and I'll be back on the 15th.
On holiday (UK) u on vacation (US), en singular. Cover for someone. “Volver” al trabajo: be back on + fecha.
Repaso: equipo distribuido
Llamadas, horas, confirmaciones y mensajes async.
Frases clave
| Inglés | Español |
|---|---|
| Let's take this async instead of booking another call. |
| I'll record the meeting for anyone who can't make it. |
| Sorry, I dropped off for a second. | Perdón, me he caído un segundo. |
Gramática · Repaso de la unidad
can you hear · at/on/in · question tags · anyone/nobody · be off/back
We're meeting at 3 pm CET, aren't we?
Priya: We need a regular call between Madrid and Singapore. What time would you suggest?
Tú: How about 9 am Madrid time? That's 4 pm in Singapore, isn't it?
Las horas van sin the: at 9 am. “Madrid time” es la forma corta. Para confirmar, question tag: isn't it?
