Frases clave

InglésEspañol
We're deploying the new checkout at three o'clock.Desplegamos el nuevo checkout a las tres.
Heads up: the API will be down for about five minutes.Aviso: la API estará caída unos cinco minutos.
Leo is handling the release today.Leo se encarga de la release hoy.

Gramática · Presente continuo para planes

am/is/are + -ing + cuándo

We're releasing version 2.4 on Thursday.

Mark: Can you announce today's release in the team channel?

Tú: Hi all, we're deploying version 3 today at four. The app will be down for a few minutes.

Plan con hora: we're deploying. “Version 3” sin the, y “unos minutos” es for a few minutes.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
The login bug was fixed in yesterday's release.
Two new endpoints were added to the API.Se añadieron dos endpoints nuevos a la API.
The old export feature has been removed.

was/were + participio

Dark mode was added to the settings page.

💡 Was con singular y were con plural: the bug was fixed, the bugs were fixed.

Así lo dirías

Priya: What changed in this week's release?

Tú: We fixed the login bug, and a new settings page was added.

“The login bug” suena más natural que “the bug of the login”. En pasiva, el sujeto va delante: a new page was added.

Si algo sale mal

Explica qué pasa si falla el despliegue.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
If the error rate goes up, we'll roll back straight away.
We won't release it unless all the checks pass.
If anything looks odd, let me know immediately.Si algo parece raro, avísame enseguida.

Gramática · Primer condicional

If + presente, will + verbo

If the deploy fails, we'll restore the previous version.

💡 “If it will fail” es un error típico. Lo correcto: if it fails, we'll…

Así lo dirías

Mark: What will you do if the release breaks something?

Tú: If something breaks, we'll roll back to the previous version.

Después de if, presente (breaks), y en el resultado will: we'll roll back.

Antes y después de desplegar

Cuenta los pasos en el orden correcto.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
Before deploying, check that the build is green.
After merging, delete the branch.Después de hacer merge, borra la rama.
Keep an eye on the logs for a while after releasing.

before / after / without + -ing

After running the migration, restart the workers.

Sarah: Walk me through what you do before and after a deploy.

Tú: Before deploying, I check the tests, and afterwards I keep an eye on the logs.

Before + -ing. Afterwards (después) sustituye a “after” suelto, y se dice look at, no look.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
The deploy failed at 3:15, but we've already rolled it back.
Everything has been stable since then.Desde entonces todo ha estado estable.
We haven't found the root cause yet.Aún no hemos encontrado la causa.

Gramática · Present perfect o pasado simple

pasado + hora concreta · present perfect + already/yet/since

Si dices cuándo pasó (at 3:15, yesterday), pasado simple.

The build broke this morning, and we haven't fixed it yet.

💡 “We have rolled back at 3:20” es incorrecto: con una hora concreta va pasado simple.

Guía completa del Present perfect →

Así lo dirías

Mark: What happened with this afternoon's deploy?

Tú: The deploy failed at four, so we rolled it back. It's been stable since then.

Con hora concreta, pasado simple: failed, rolled back. Y falta el sujeto: it's stable, no “is OK”.

Repaso: release completa

Anuncia, explica, despliega y reporta.

Frases clave

InglésEspañol
The release went smoothly, with no errors so far.
We'll keep monitoring it for the next hour.Seguiremos vigilándola durante la próxima hora.
Thanks everyone for testing before the release.

presente continuo · pasiva · if + presente · before + -ing · present perfect

Una release se cuenta con varios tiempos: el plan (we're deploying), los cambios (was added), el plan B (if it fails, we'll…) y el estado (it's been stable).

If nothing breaks, we'll remove the old endpoint next week.

Priya: How did the release go, and what's next?

Tú: It went well. We released at ten, and if there are any problems, we'll roll back.

Pasado: it went, we released (hora concreta). If there are (plural) y will + verbo, sin to.
